JL Supplements had been outsourcing their capsule making and with growing market demand, the management team made the decision to manufacture in house.
This necessitated the purchase of an automatic capsule filling machine, and the company initially purchased this direct from a supplier in China.
However, the lack of local service and technical support from the supplier mean that any technical production issues could not be solved quickly and eventually the original machine written off.
As a result of market research, JL Supplements selected the semi-automatic capsule filler S3B-25-C from S3B Machinery. But wary of repeating their poor previous experience, they were naturally extremely critical in their section process for the replacement.
In order to convince the JL Supplements team, S3B invited them to their Kent base to set up their intended purchase with the powders they were to use in the mass production of their fat burner capsules. During this process, the machine was optimised for their powder mixes for optimum quality and volume targets and then delivered to Mansfield the next day as a ‘plug and play’ solution.
Capable of producing 25,000 capsules per hour, the S3B-25-C is fitted with a Siemens PLC screen, runs Siemens software and uses a Becker German built vacuum pump – these enhancements mean that the core of the machine is powered by more reliable European technology.
